Who You'll Work With
Ray
Also referred to as ‘Sunshine’, Ray’s an award winning hockey player* with a masters in Comp Sci from Waterloo. Previously, he founded two startups, EventSwoop in Calgary and ArtLocal in NYC. When he’s not screaming ‘GO FLAMES GO’ he can be found reading about javascript, playing e-sports and snowboarding.
Radek
An ardent wheat beer enthusiast, ‘Radical’ Radek snuck under the iron curtain and then headed west to earn a Masters in Computing and AI from Cambridge. At 18 he voted for the communist party, at 21 he was an Ayn Rand and at 22 he thought PHP was cool. When he’s not meditating, or doing yoga he can be found playing the Guitar. Days without saying something offensive: 3.
Lukas
A competitive poker player, Lukas was the #1 ranked multi-table tournament player in Canada under the name 'Bananazoo' for a few minutes before he came back to UofT and finished his degree in Computer Science. When not playing poker or coding, he's often found cycling, meditating or planning to go to the gym and napping instead. Once ate lunch at 9PM and hopes to one day own a parrot (its the closest he can get to a dinosaur).
Rob
A semi-competitive, tournament winning* back catcher Rob put his mitt down to study Astrophysics at Waterloo. The first caffeine-based life form ever discovered, Rob can be found playing magic cards, winning Mario Kart and sipping Oatmeal Stouts. Like any other 6’2 person, Rob has played basketball casually.
Catherine
A seasoned scuba diver, robust rock climber and professional portageur* Catherine escaped from Waterloo with a degree in Accounting and Finance. Although Catherine prefers not to sing, on the weekends there’s a good chance you'll find her at a music festival or a show. A long, long, time ago, she was co-president of the UW Entrepreneurship Society. *She’s still alive
Risa
An OCAD graduate, Risa is a talented artist who paints and sketches with charcoal, pastels and pencil. She affectionately calls HBO her Baye and was formerly the Principal Viola for a symphony Orchestra. Risa’s adopted brother Teddy, is a morkie.
Matt
Matt, respectfully called ‘the Admiral’ is an avid sailor and soccer player with a diploma in Web Design and Web Development. An excellent illustrator, he’s fluent in Spanish and when not cracking jokes he’s usually reading about product design or drinking cuba libres. As a technology enthusiast, Matt aspires to be Elon Musk, but for like a week, tops, and without the stutter.
Wei
A dominant force, on and off the computer, Wei Curry Zhao has been called the Greatest Shooter in Neuranet’s history by many analysts and holds a degree in Web Applications. Wei is a talented painter/illustrator and when he’s not spending time with his daughter, he can be found gaming. Prone to impromptu car road trips, he wants to know everything.
Justin
A talented drummer and former Karate Teacher, Justin fled the University of Toronto with a CS degree. In between expeditions to the Philippines, Justin creates games for the app store, which he also illustrates. Always intimidating behind an Xbox controller, rumour has it that Justin’s favorite movie is Equilibrium.
Faheem
Faheem who is known for his wicked sense of humor, occasionally mixes coffee with tea and stole a Degree in Engineering Physics from McMaster. Before starting a family, he spent more time playing squash and badminton than he cares to admit and can now be found tinkering with electronics. He claims newfies are the nicest people he’s ever met.
Bryan
A lifelong sports fanatic, Bryan’s allegiance lies with the many sports teams of Toronto. Outside of work, Bryan likes spending time with his family, and recently developed a passion for smoking meat. His neighbours have apparently found him outside, in the wee hours of the morning, perfecting the art.
Jacqueline
A serial entrepreneur, Jacqueline has launched and managed many media companies always in search of the best in technology to solve the challenge of efficiency and increasing bottom line. Her passion for gardening and nurturing, keeps her busy in the garden and growing business.
Spencer
Mysterious.
Greg
Born and in the 6ix when it was still called Toronto, Greg is a media industry veteran and claims he used to be shy. An Iron Chef in training, when he’s not reading about food, cooking, or making sausages from scratch he can usually be found with a (mischievous) smile on his face.
Paul
Mysterious.
Joe
Always looking for an excuse to get on a Motorcycle, Joe fled his small town and headed to Waterloo where he spent time in a tech incubator, and cut a deal: they’d give him a degree, and he’d never come back. When he’s not pretending to be good at basketball, he can be found reading, travelling or doing improv. Voted most likely to wear a onesie.
